Boughton Monchelsea Scout Troop

Scouts is the final section of Scouting available at Boughton Monchelsea and is open to young people aged 10½-14 years old.

Scouts take part in a balanced programme that helps them to find out about the world in which they live, encourages them to know their own abilities, the importance of keeping fit and helps develop their creative talents. It also provides opportunities to explore their own values and personal attitudes.

With Scouts being older, they are involved in more hands on activities and experience new challenges they may not have been allowed to do before like night hikes, constructing bug hotels and bird boxes, building 'pringles' rockets. They engage in outdoor adventures, learn practical skills, continue to develop their life skills, learn leadership skills and participate in community service projects. Whilst all the time having lots of fun, and maybe getting a bit muddy too!!

To Scout is to explore, to discover, to adventure.
